lie的过去式和过去分词(lie的现在分词)

今天，让我们解决两个小词！

首先来看看标题的问题。

Lie：

1. 躺下: to be or put yourself in a horizontal position.

2. 位于：something is situated somewhere.

3. 撒谎：to say or write sth that you know is not true.

Lay :

1. 放置: to put sb/sth in a particular position

2. 下蛋：(a bird/insect/fish) lays eggs

所以lie是躺下，位于和撒谎，lay是放置和下蛋。

但要记得，

You can lay something, but you cannot lie it.

Something can lie somewhere, but it cannot lay there.

是不是有点蒙？看几个例句：

Chickens lay eggs.

Chickens lay eggs.

The museum lies in the center of the city.

The museum lies in the center of the city.

The book lies on the table.

搞清楚了吗？

你把东西放到那儿，用lay；同理，母鸡把蛋放哪儿，用lay。

什么东西就在那儿，用lie。

但除了lie和lay（不是张艺兴）这两个动词意思不同之外，它们还是很容易被弄混。

为什么呢？

再来一起看看lie和lay的原形，过去式，过去分词，以及动词ing形式。

lie（作躺下的意思）: lie-lay-lain-lying

lie（作撒谎的意思）：lie-lied-lied-lying

lay（放置；下蛋）: lay-laid-laid-laying

看到了吗，如果你昨天躺下了，就是you LAY in bed yesterday.

Lie-lay-lain！躺下的过去式是lay！

那你昨天把包放下了，是you laid your bag on the table.

Lay-laid-laid！

在我们弄得更混之前，请大声地把这三个词的动词变化念三遍。

我现在躺在床上：

I am lying in bed right now.

还是第一个！
